You ever thought of what would happend if none would have been able to stop Shiro? Just imagine nearly every human in Cantha being transformed into afflicted or bound by Shiro. And i'm not completely sure that he would stop there, so imagine that army moving to Tyria or Elona or a place like those, starting to make the peoples there afflicted and binding them too.
I dont think that anything could stop an assult like that, so the heroes going to Cantha and killing him would pretty much have alot to do with the storyline. But of course, that is just my personal way to look at things.

i think it might be to do with maguuma jungle (like another whole part of it). it would be cool if u got a character that can shoot darts from a shaft of bamboo or throwing axes or even blades on there knuckles

Shooting darts from a bamboo stick is something I could see for a ranger, but (drawing from other topics) when people suggest a rifle or something, that makes me want to shoot my foot off.
But throwing axes is something that could also been seen as being done due to the throwing of a spear (that magically reappears in your hand ever time...)

err, north of cantha = Tyria... also, Cantha is located just south of Tyria, We know this because there is a line in the factions manuel that says there is a sea between Cantha and Elona, Elona is VERY close to both Tyri and Cantha then, and due to the positioning of tyria and elona, you can assume that a continent cannot fit between Tyria and Cantha
Either you go east or south of cantha, east or south of Elona, or North, East, or West of Tyria... or you can put it in a completely reandom location that no 1 knows about

I think you meant this in the factions manual. Page 6 state that "The Empire of the Dragon holds sway over the Canthan continent to the south of Tyria."
In the nf manual of page 49. This is the statement, "Between the northwest coast of Cantha and the southern rim of Elona a deadly sea is troubled by sudden storms and cyclones, hidden reefs, and dangerous sea creatures."
This is what made be believe that Cantha is actually southeast of Elona. Or possibly south of Elona.

Ok !
I love this discussion but id like to clear something up.
There is a very strong bond between the new professions and the new continent.
Cantha: Assasin, Ritualist have a sort of far eastern feeling while Paragon and Dervish are pretty much egyptian/syrian.
So in my opinion this slays the Underwater settings...
Im not buying C4 if im going to be a fish...
The idea of a far north, tundra setting seems appealing, but i cant think of what professions wed have up there.
Also note that we dont really know if Arena Net wont totally kill the current Guild Wars style. Maybe the new game wont be connected to the other three, who knows ?
Although Guild Wars is great and fun, the majority of Guild Wars players WILL get bored of it sooner or later. Maybe Anet will have to polish up the game style. Add more mmorpg elements.
I dont know... you guys try to think of new professions.
I have an odd feeling this new chapter has been baking from the beginning of 2006.
I think its gonna revolutionize the guild wars franchise and pull out a totally new game. And Races, imo, will definitely be included.
Oh also think about what new weapons could be made. And making caster professions is cheap because then they can use wands, foci and staff.

well, actually, it has been in development since factions has been released, anet has two teams working in year cycles simultainiously so that they can release a new game every 6 months.
Also, I had an idea a while ago that if they release a continent north of Tyria, they could make dwarves a playable race, alternatively, if they make the new continent east of Elona or Tyria, they could make a centaur as a new race (which would be pretty dumb, imo, I am getting sick of centaurs)
Eitherw way, I agree with you that players will start getting bored, My friend and I have been playing this game since last xmas, and we are running out of things to do, and slowly loosing interest, hopefully anet will do SOMETHING to recall our attention because this is a great game.

Not quite the lore, but this surely has to do with CH4.
Just my thoughts: vabbi clearly is a nation that relies on trading. Looking at the most obvious map there is no real civelisation around there. They could be trading with Kourna, but concidering the wealth in Kourna (not much) that wouldn't make vabbians rich.
Maybe the next continent of Guild Wars is the continent wich Vabbi is trading with.

The reason for all the money in Vabbi is because of its abundance of rare gemstones eg, Rubys, diamonds etc.

Certain sources indicate that there will be a lot lumberjacks in the upcoming chapter. They're okay.

I would love if the new GW came out with races........being a charr would really be hilarious,........even gaille had said in a chat that she also loved the idea of being a tengu....or charr. As for proffesions Alchemy would be very cool in my opinion....or something that deals with shape shifting.

Whoa. Calm it down. Just because WoW has races doesnt mean Guild Wars cant expand into them aswell. I do see playable races as a future feature but not in chapter 4.
Quote:
What playable races are there in Guild Wars?
In the first chapter you play characters from the human race. In subsequent chapters of Guild Wars, you may be able to play members of other races.
